Since 2000, the Madison Metropolitan School District had had only 2 snow days. Since January 30, 2008, we've had 2! Last week we did not have school due to "extreme weather," and today we had a good old fashioned snow day. I was elated...Dave, however had to get on the bus and go to class:( I made up for it by shoveling a few times today.
This is our wall of snow beside our driveway. We've had 72.2 inches of snow this winter and the record for Madison is 76 inches in one year. I have a suspicion we may just beat that considering its only February 6!

Oh my gosh that's alot of snow! It's good you're a farm girl or you might not be able to scoop all that snow!
Just wondering! Hi Amy,That is alot of snow, but I been waiting patiently for pictures of the snow fort. I suppose nowadays to be politically correct you have to wait for a city supervisor to analyze the necessity for having a snow fort. Then you would have to wait for the zoning board to approve the job site.Hopefully after all this the city council would grant you a permit. Then if your lucky you can get a Government Grant before Spring and hire some of the local illegal aliens over at Oscar Mayer to do the work for you.Sounds EASY. But wait, back in the day when the Neary boys could get a day off from Santa, We would head right out and build a fort. Sometimes if the drift was large enough we would have two rooms. If it was in the right location we could tunnel up and go out on top to lookout for the ever approaching communist hourde.[ALOT] That's right and all we used was a sand shovel and two 3 lb. coffee cans.Reminds me of wet frozen fingers and hot chocolate.cookies, brownies and a few other goodies.Great memories of the farm.Happy Snow Fort Building.Mr.Bill
Bill, I looked in our rental agreement and yes, snow forts are not allowed! :( However, I would have loved to see your forts at the farm. Too bad digital pictures weren't around back them!
We're supposed to get 7 - 10 inches Sunday night....maybe I'll make a fort regardless what the landlord says!
